A registry office ceremony follows a fixed, standardised script with very limited scope for personalisation. A humanist ceremony is written entirely around your story and can include your own vows, readings, music, rituals and humour, held wherever feels meaningful to you rather than a register office room on a fixed timetable.

How much does it cost to book a wedding celebrant?

Fees for a bespoke UK wedding start from £1,600 and vary depending on the day of the week, with weekday availability limited for 2026 and beyond. Get in touch for a personalised quote, or for international fees if marrying outside the UK.

Where is Kathryn based, and how far will she travel?

Kathryn is based in Penn, Buckinghamshire, and mainly conducts ceremonies across London and Buckinghamshire. She is happy to travel anywhere in the UK and overseas; contact her for travel costs.

Yes, Kathryn holds full public liability and professional indemnity insurance through her membership of the Humanists UK Ceremonies network.

How early should I book a wedding celebrant?

It's never too early to start planning. Even in the very early stages, or newly engaged, get in touch to check availability for your date.

Can you help us write our own vows?

Yes, Kathryn can help you write personal vows for each other as part of your ceremony booking.

Can you conduct legal wedding ceremonies outside England?

Yes, Kathryn can conduct legal wedding ceremonies in Northern Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark. As she is based in England, there would be additional travel costs for these locations.

Are there any restrictions on what we can include, or where we can hold our ceremony?

No, there are no restrictions. Kathryn has delivered ceremonies everywhere from farms and woodlands to beaches and couples' own back gardens.
